'X-Men: Apocalypse' Concept Art Reveals Ben Hardy's Role

When Eastenders star Ben Hardy was confirmed for a "significant" role in X-Men: Apocalypse, my immediate guess was that he'd be Archangel, the blue-skinned, metal-winged, demonic version of Angel (last seen played by Ben Foster). Why? Because he looks exactly like Warren Worthington III, but Bryan Singer has been changing every other returning mutant. Now Singer has confirmed to Empire Hardy's role, while also revealing some cool concept art of how he may look.

“Ben Hardy is Angel – I shall confirm it for you! But he’s not a very nice Angel! And that’s all I’ll say…

So yeah, he's definitely going to be Angel, who in the comics was changed from the feathered billionaire playboy into Apocalypse's horseman of death known as Archangel. Worthing loses his beloved wings at the hands of the villainous Reavers, and while in a deep despair he joins with Apocalypse (who is played by Oscar Isaac in the film) in hopes of getting them back. Of course it comes with the price of his soul, and the wings aren't exactly what he was expecting.

We're also getting a look at some concept art which shows how Angel will look sporting his metal wings.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27th 2016.
