High School Spirit Turns Deadly in Trailer for 'The Gallows'
A bunch of rambunctious teens; the anniversary of a highly-publicized death; a haunted high school play; and lots of shaky cam. That sounds like the recipe for another low-budget horror from the folks at Blumhouse, and that's exactly what we're getting in The Gallows, a film that hopes to rattle a few cages this summer.
Starring a bunch of people you've probably never heard of, the new trailer features a slowed-down version of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" that is more silly than scary. Directed by Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing, the film takes place on the anniversary of the death of a boy named Charlie, who died under mysterious circumstances during a high school play. As a group of students break into the school to crash a revival of that same play, freaky stuff starts happening and people start dying. Isn't that always the way?
The Gallows hits theaters on July 10th.
