New Images Surface from Ridley Scott's 'The Martian'

Matt Damon is heading back into deep space, so soon after he got stranded there in Interstellar. And he's gonna get left behind again, too, only this time it's in Ridley Scott's adaptation of Andy Weir's book, The Martian. Over the weekend we were treated to our first group of photos, and now today a few more have arrived.

Damon stars alongside Interstellar co-star Jessica Chastain, plus Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Mackenzie Davis, Sean Bean, Donald Glover, and Naomi Scott, in the story of Mark Watney, an astronaut left behind on Mars when his team is forced to evacuate. When NASA figures out he's still alive, they put all of their big brains together to try and mount a rescue mission while dealing with the public backlash.

The film was written by Drew Goddard, and was originally meant to be his directorial follow-up to The Cabin in the Woods, but he got busy with Daredevil, Sinister Six, and other stuff he ended up not doing anyway.

The Martian opens November 25th. It's a great book (so far), and the film is quickly becoming one I'm eagerly awaiting. [EW/People]
