Louis C.K. Returns to Directing with Indie Comedy 'I'm A Cop'
Louis C.K. has turned his stand-up career into a mega-successful TV series and frequent supporting roles in movies like American Hustle and Blue Jasmine. However, the last time he tried his hand at directing it was the disastrous 2001 Chris Rock comedy, Pootie Tang, a notoriously awful film that saw C.K. fired during post-production. Well, now he's giving directing another shot, and hopefully this time turns out better.
C.K. is set to write, direct, and star in I'm a Cop, a Scott Rudin-produced indie comedy about “a depressed middle-aged man who is a volunteer police officer living in the shadow of his mother, a highly decorated retired officer. When she dies, her continued influence forces him to become a real police officer, which is something he never wanted to be.”
No word on when filming begins but it will likely have to work around the schedule for FX's Louie, which recently returned for its fifth season. [THR]
