'Agents of SHIELD' to Introduce the Secret Warriors; Punisher is the Villain of 'Daredevil' Season Two
So what if Marvel isn't bringing their big screen heroes to Comic-Con this year? There's still plenty of action going on with their small-screen shows like Agents of SHIELD and Daredevil, and naturally there are details about both coming out.
For season 3 of Agents of SHIELD, it looks like Phil Coulson is going to be putting together the Secret Warriors, a team of super-powered operatives assembled by Nick Fury in the comics. The team was lead by Daisy Johnson aka Quake, who was revealed to be Chloe Bennett's character on the TV series. After facing off against the Inhumans, Coulson will feel the need to assemble his own team of powered agents and will begin searching the world for those who fit his mission, but of course there are others trying to get to these Inhumans first. If anything this proves the Inhumans aren't going anywhere for awhile. More on the Secret Warriors will be learned during the Marvel Television Presents panel at Comic-Con on Friday, July 10th.
And on to the 2nd season of Marvel's Daredevil Netflix series, which just got a serious boost with the addition of Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. It's an awesome choice as Bernthal is great in exactly that kind of bad ass role. But they don't call Frank Castle the Punisher for nothing; he's a killer through and through, something that conflicts with Daredevil's personal code. Nerdist says the two heroes will have more than just a momentary beef, and that the Punisher may be the antagonist for the entire season. This is coming from something they heard from co-showrunner Marco Ramirez who labels the second season "Daredevil vs. The Punisher". Doesn't get more straight forward than that, does it? Of course, this doesn't mean they'll be punching one another up and down Hell's Kitchen. It will likely be more of a philosophical war as Punisher seeks to wipe out the criminals filling the power vacuum in the Kingpin's absence, and Daredevil tries to stop him. And how will Bullseye and Elektra fit into all of this?
Agents of SHIELD returns to ABC on September 29th. Daredevil's second season will air in 2016. [Variety]
