One thing we've been able to suss out about Paul Feig's all-gal Ghostbusters is that it will honor the original in various little ways.There's a certain academic connection between the old guard and the new crew played by Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon. Plus what little we know of the plot seems to be at least marginally inspired by nostalgia. But now Feig has posted the first look at the ghostbusting costumes his cast will be wearing, and they also look a lot like what we saw in the 1984 film.
If there's a slight difference to be found in these costumes it's that they resemble the uniforms worn by emergency personnel, in particular firefighters. So while this is definitely a comedy it's cool that we can expect a little real world authenticity, too.
Ghostbusters is filming right now with a release set for July 22nd 2016, and with Channing Tatum's dude version going up in smoke it may be the only one we see for awhile.
