Although the X-Men: Days of Future Past "Rogue Cut" obviously features more of Anna Paquin's Rogue than the mere cameo seen in the theatrical version, other characters receive some extra time. Two of those are Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), whose building romantic subplot was sadly left in the background.
However, the "Rogue Cut" includes this scene of Beast and Mystique getting awfully close, even sharing a passionate kiss. But then they get all blue, fuzzy, and scaly and decide to pull back. It's obvious why this scene was left out since it hits on familiar thematic beats, and with Mystique already in the middle of a love triangle with Magneto and Xavier her heart is spread a little thin.
Hopefully this is the last of the extra footage 20th Century Fox will see fit to share. What's the point in pushing a film's additional content just to give it all away for free beforehand? X-Men: Days of Future Past the "Rogue Cut" goes on sale July 14th and will screen at San Diego Comic-Con.
