Kenneth Branagh won't be Directing 'Thor: Ragnarok'
It may be awhile before we see Thor (Chris Hemsworth) take to the big screen. He's one of the very few characters who isn't expected to turn up in Captain America: Civil War, as he'll likely be busy in Asgard dealing with a new threat to his people. That means we probably won't see him again until 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, which has already been the subject of some rumors. One of those involves the possible return of Thor director Kenneth Branagh to helm the anticipated sequel, but according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige's comments to Collider, that's not going to happen.
“Not true. I don’t know where that came from.”
But he does reveal when an announcement could be made, saying “probably towards the end of the summer we would announce a filmmaker and a writer. May be the same person, I don’t know, may be two different people.”
So coy! There's a good chance Feige will make a series of announcements all at once, revealing directors for Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel all at once. We shall see. Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for November 3rd 2017.
