There's a ton of excitement in the air right now for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot with Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Chris Hemsworth. Yesterday saw the release of some key plot details prior to the Boston shoot, and now with filming officially underway the set photos are flying around fast and furious. The first set of images reveal Wiig, McCarthy, and McKinnon, but nothing on Jones and Hemsworth yet.
Here's the updated info about their characters, followed by the images themselves.
Wiig and McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia.
Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.
Wiig's outfit suggests she's going to be the straight-laced one, while McKinnon looks like some kind of oddball. McCarthy is a bit harder to tell, but man does she look different from Spy or what?
