Expect The Wasp to Play a Major Part in a Marvel Phase 3 Movie

From the moment Evangeline Lilly was cast in Marvel's Ant-Man it's been clear where she was headed. She has a history of playing tough, combative women in everything from Lost to Real Steel to The Hobbit, and she seemed destined to play some version of the Wasp in the Marvel Universe. Now that Ant-Man is in theaters and certain clues have been dropped about the Wasp's future, Kevin Feige has now revealed a little bit about what's in store. Spoilers beyond this point!

In the first of two credits scenes at the end of Ant-Man, Hope Van Dyne (Lilly) is finally given her own Wasp suit by her father, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). It's a passing of the torch, so to speak, since Hope's long-lost mother Janet was the Wasp previously. So what comes next for her now that she's ready to get into the action? While speaking with Yahoo, Feige teases when we'll see the Wasp next.

“It’s going to be certainly a part of our Phase 3; some of the films we've announced in Phase 3...It is going to be a very important moment [in Ant-Man], and — spoiler alert! — we see that suit for the first time, and her father now is finally giving it to her and realizes that he can’t hold her back from what is essentially her destiny. It's gonna be a very big part of one of our upcoming films.”

Which film will it be? Feige doesn't say, but it would most likely be one of the Avengers: Infinity War movies. It's probably too late for her to appear alongside Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War, and what reason would she have to show up in Doctor Strange, Black Panther, or Thor: Ragnarok?
