It was Neill Blomkmap's Alien concept art that got his upcoming sequel with 20th Century Fox rolling, so it only makes sense any updates would come in the same form. What we actually know about the film is still minimal at this point, except that it will take place after Aliens and be less connected to the third and fourth movies. Sigourney Weaver is on board to return as Ellen Ripley, and prior images revealed the possible return of Michael Biehn as Hicks. Blomkamp has revealed a new piece of art that again shows Ripley and a scarred Hicks, making it pretty obvious both characters will be involved.
Blomkamp debuted the new images via Instagram, along with the caption “#alien going very well. Love this project.”.
Not much of an update, but it shows that Blomkamp is moving along on the project and feeling comfortable enough to share new artwork. While Ridley Scott is on board as a producer, Blomkamp's film will not be interacting with Scott's upcoming Prometheus sequel.
