Rosamund Pike does the 'High Wire Act' with Jon Hamm

After helping to build the world of shadowy governments that Jason Bourne and Aaron Cross existed in through four movies, screenwriter Tony Gilroy won't be coming back for the fifth film. So he's turned his attention towards a different kind of political thriller, titled High Wire Act, that we previously learned would star Jon Hamm. And now the cast has gotten better with the addition of Oscar nominated Gone Girl star, Rosamund Pike.

Directed by Brad Anderson (the underrated Transsiberian) and penned by Gilroy, the 1980s Beirut-set thriller stars Hamm as Mason Skiles, a former U.S. diplomat  who is called back into service to save a former colleague from the group possibly responsible for his own family’s death. Skiles is aided by a CIA field agent at the American embassy played by Pike.

No word on when this will roll but Pike has a couple of other projects on the way. She'll rejoin Jack Reacher co-star David Oyelowo in United Kingdom directed by Amma Asante; plus she has HHHH starring Jack O'Connell and Mia Wasikowska. [Deadline]
