Tao Okamato is Lex Luthor's Bodyguard Mercy Graves in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'

With the reveal of the latest Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, many plot details were brought out into the light. But there are still a few lingering questions, one of which is the identity of the character played by Tao Okamoto, who joined the film way back in April of last year. In the latest episode of DC All Access, it was confirmed that Okamoto will be playing Mercy Graves, a character with a close connection to Lex Luthor.

Graves was initially introduced in Superman: The Animated Series back in 1996, before making her DC Comics debut in 1999. As Luthor's personal bodyguard, Graves has used her superhuman strength to go toe-to-toe with Superman, which she's able to do because she is of Amazonian lineage just like Wonder Woman. But the version seen in the film seems to closely resemble the New 52 version of Mercy Graves, in which she is an Asian-American woman who runs LexCorp in Luthor's absence. So we may not see her coming to blows with any superheroes.

Okamoto was recently seen in another superhero film, The Wolverine, in which she played Mariko. She currently appears on the third season of NBC's Hannibal.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25th 2016.
