When the mighty Thor is on your side leaving him behind the reception desk would be a waste of his talents. Earlier this year Chris Hemsworth signed on to join the cast of Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot, but not to go out and bust some ghosts, but to be the team's new receptionist. Or at least that's what we thought, but new photos from the Boston set suggest otherwise.
The first image of Hemsworth from the Ghostbusters production shows him all suited up in similar gear worn by stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. He's seen riding into action on a motorbike that looks like the Ecto-2 seen in earlier photos. Feig was said to have beefed up Hemsworth's role and clearly part of that was giving him more to do than the receptionist played by Annie Potts in the original films.
McCarthy and Wiig play authors who become a laughingstock after proclaiming that ghosts really do exist, but they become heroes when supernatural forces invade Manhattan. Dan Akroyd and Bill Murray are set to appear, with the latter rumored to be playing a professional debunker. Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, and Neil Casey also co-star in the film which opens July 15th 2016. [Yahoo!]
