Although Henry Cavill had been helping to develop the project, he abruptly departed the action flick Stratton days before production. He was quickly replaced by Dominic Cooper as the title badass, and now Empire has revealed the first image of him, all strapped in and ready for battle.
Directed by Simon West (Con Air) and based on Duncan Falconer's book series, Stratton centers on the titular British Special Forces officer who teams up with a U.S. Naval officer to take down a terrorist cell. The film also stars Austin Stowell, Connie Nielsen, Tom Felton, Gemma Chan, Derek Jacobi, Thomas Kretschmann, Tyler Hoechlin, and Jake Fairbrother.
Stratton is expected to open in 2016.
