Earlier this year Emily Blunt's performance in Edge of Tomorrow earned her the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actress in an Action Movie. Steadily she's been establishing herself as one of today's top action stars, but Sicario looks like it may be her most intense role yet.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve and co-starring Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro, and Jon Bernthal, Blunt stars as an idealistic FBI agent who joins a special task force to fight a bloody drug war in Mexico. There have been a few trailers for the film already but this is the most punishing and brutal of the bunch. Of all the fall season movies that will be staking their claim in the next few months none looks like Sicario, and that's reason enough to be excited.
Sicario hits theaters on September 25th.
