First Official Look at 'Star Wars: Rogue One'; Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, and Alan Tudyk Confirmed

Those wondering why Disney revealed so little at Comic-Con last month now have their answer. The studio has been holding all of their cards until the Disney D23 Expo, and after big updates on Star Wars: Episode IX, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and even a new Star Wars theme park (gaaaahhh!!!), now comes the first look at Gareth Edwards' Anthology film, Star Wars: Rogue One.

The image reveals previously revealed stars Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna, plus confirms Jiang Wen (Let the Bullets Fly) and Donnie Yen (Ip Man) who had been recently rumored. That's not all as the cast grows even bigger with the additions of Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal) and Alan Tudyk (Firefly), while Forest Whitaker and Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom) have been confirmed, as well. Mendelsohn will play a villain, Tudyk is a motion-captured character, while Jones, Ahmed, and Luna are members of the Resistance on a mission to steal the Death Star plans. A rumor has been going around that Jones' character may have some pretty deep ties to another popular Star Wars character.

Star Wars: Rogue One opens December 16th 2016.
