While most of the key roles in Marvel's future movies have already been filled, there's still one that's wide open. The role of Captain Marvel is up for grabs ahead of the superheroine's 2018 film, and while there are a number of ladies who have been rumored for it, such as Emily Blunt, Katee Sackhoff, and Yvonne Strahovski, last week Ronda Rousey threw her hat in the ring. It didn't take long for Rousey's fans to get excited at the idea of their favorite UFC champ joining the MCU, and they provided some awesome fan art to show their support.
“Since the Reddit AMA I’ve received so many badass Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel edits,” Rousey wrote on Instagram. “There were so many cool ones I couldn’t pick just one to share.”
Who else could Marvel find that has all of the right qualities to play Carol Danvers? Captain Marvel is basically the Wonder Woman of the Marvel Universe; she's the baddest female superhero around and the baddest woman on the planet should play her. Imagine Rousey on screen fighting alongside Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and *gasp* Scarlett Johansson.
Captain Marvel is scheduled to open on November 2nd 2018.
