With hip-hop drama Straight Outta Compton hitting theaters, it's a good time to the attention on another music biopic. Later this year Tom Hiddleston will play country music icon Hank Williams in I Saw the Light, and the first image has been revealed of him in a cowboy hat that Loki would absolutely despise.
Directed by Mark Abraham (Flash of Genius) and featuring a cast of Elizabeth Olsen, Cherry Jones, Bradley Whitford, and more, the film centers on Williams' legendary but short-lived career, and the personal demons that would ultimately claim his life at the young age of 29. I SAW THE LIGHT, the story of the legendary country western singer Hank Williams, who in his brief life created one of the greatest bodies of work in American music. The film chronicles his meteoric rise to fame and its ultimately tragic effect on his health and personal life.
I Saw the Light opens on November 27th.
