First Teaser for Marvel's 'Jessica Jones' Netflix Series Debuting In November
Attention has shifted away somewhat from Marvel's Netflix series, Jessica Jones, to the casting on Luke Cage, which is unfortunate. The result is that Jessica Jones, which stars Krysten Ritter as the titular private detective of the superhero beat, hasn't received the same level of attention that Daredevil did for its first season. But now that's all about to change because Netflix has finally revealed that Jessica Jones will debut on November 20th, and a moody first teaser has arrived.
Using visuals clearly inspired by Michael Gaydos, artist on the Alias comic series that introduced Jones to the Marvel Universe, this teaser doesn't feature much in the way of actual footage. Instead it's setting a tone which promises to be dark and very mature, especially in the relationship between Jones and Luke Cage, played by Mike Colter. The 13 one-hour episodes will be followed next year by Luke Cage, then Iron Fist, culminating in team up series The Defenders.
The rest of the cast includes David Tennant as villain Kilgrave the Purple ManRachael Taylor as Trish "Hellcat" Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and more. Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight) serves as the showrunner.
Oh, and as for Luke Cage, you can add '90s icon Frank Whaley (Career Opportunities) to the cast as Detective "Rafe" Scarfe.
