New Trailer for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' Part 2 is Somber as Hell

One of the great things about Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in The Hunger Games books and adaptations, is that everything she's doing is for one reason: to protect the people she loves. Let's not forget how the whole thing started, with Katniss sacrificing herself so that Prim (Willow Shields) wouldn't have to fight, and likely die, in the Hunger Games. Everything that has happened since is an extension of that moment, and damn do they play it up big in the latest trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, a somber, sad affair that doesn't get me excited for the movie at all.

Appropriately titled "For Prim", this trailer takes us back through some of Prim and Katniss' most emotional moments, not just tugging at our heartstrings but stomping a mudhole in them. Fortunately there's other promo material to go along with it, such as brand new poster and a handful of photos depicting the soldiers joining Katniss in her fight against President Snow.  Here's the official synopsis:

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 opens November 20th.
