Now We're Getting a 'Lethal Weapon' TV Series, Too
Stuff all your talk about how great and innovative TV is nowadays. Every year around Emmy time we hear the same crap. The truth is that for every unique, groundbreaking show out there we get some regurgitated crap like a Lethal Weapon TV show. Yep, that's what next. Friggin' Lethal Weapon.
Fox has picked up an hour-long drama series based on the classic action movies that starred Mel Gibson as nutso cop Martin Riggs and Danny Glover as veteran LAPD cop Roger "I'm too old for this shit" Murtaugh. The series will stay pretty faithful to the characters, meaning the mismatched pair will eventually become best buds, fight crime, avoid exploding toilets, get their butts kicked by Jet Li...well, maybe it won't be that faithful.
Matt Miller, an exec-producer on Chuck, will write the series for which Fox has already made a put pilot commitment. So you can add this to Limitless, Minority Report, 12 Monkeys, Rush Hour, Taken, Training Day, and every other film that is being adapted for the small screen. Golden Age of television, my ass.
