Marlon Wayans has built himself a little cottage industry spoofing Hollywood's biggest films. He seems to be living forever in 2000 when Scary Movie was a huge deal, and anyone who suffered through A Haunted House or its dreadful sequel know the jokes are just as broad and twice as stale. But when an unintentionally funny phenomenon like Fifty Shades of Grey arrives it's just too good of an opportunity to pass up, apparently, because now we have Wayans' spoof, Fifty Shades of Black.
If you thought that title was lazy, just wait until you get a look at the laugh-free trailer which has Wayans going for the most obvious jokes he can muster. The biggest problem is that most of the films and celebs it targets have already been skewered by funnier, smarter people. Are there funny jokes still to be told about the Kardashians? Not really. And everybody knows Fifty Shades of Grey was terrible, do we need this movie to remind us of that?
Directed by Michael Tiddes with Kali Hawk, Fred Willard, Jane Seymour, and Mike Epps picking up a paycheck, Fifty Shades of Black opens January 29th.
