First Look At 'Inferno' Features Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, And More

Six years have passed since Angels & Demons, the underwhelming sequel to The Da Vinci Code, based on Dan Brown's high-concept historical/religious adventure novels, and is there really a demand for another one? Inferno has been in the works for what seems like an eternity, and despite the reunion of Ton Howard and Tom Hanks there's a notable lack of buzz for the former global phenomenon. Maybe now that the marketing campaign is kicking off that will change.

The first Inferno images have been released featuring Hanks as famed symbology professor Robert Langdon, along with co-stars Felicity Jones, Omar Sy, Irrfan Khan, Sidse Babett Knudsen, and Ben Foster. The story this time around has Langdon trying to stop a killer inspired by "Inferno", the first chapter of Dante's epic poem. Perhaps it's time somebody investigate Langdon and why stuff like this keeps happening when he's around?  Here's the official synopsis:

Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks, a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s “Inferno.”

Inferno opens next year on October 14th. [via ThePlaylist]
