Trailer For 'Ice Age: Collision Course" Heads Into Space

Wait, there's another Ice Age movie? Of course there is because the animated kids' films have earned more than $2B worldwide. That's nothing to sneeze an acorn at, especially with Dreamworks and Pixar largely dominating the market. After a brief prequel was shown ahead of The Peanuts Movie just weeks ago, the first full trailer for the fifth Ice Age movie, titled 'Collision Course', has been released.

Once again it's the maniacal squirrel Scrat causing trouble as he chases down that elusive acorn. After Scrat alters the very fabric of space in his hunt for the tasty morsel (the trailer is an edited version of the short film), Earth is thrown into chaos that threatens the lives of Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo), Diego (Denis Leary), Ellie (Queen Latifah) and the rest of the gang. Isn't this basically the same plot as Ice Age: Continental Drift? Sure appears to be.

Ice Age: Collision Course opens July 22nd 2016.
