Jean-Marc Vallee is what one would call an actor's director. Some of Emily Blunt's strongest early notices came in Vallee's period piece, The Young Victoria. He would then go on to help Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto win Oscars for Dallas Buyers Club, followed by nominations for Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern for Wild. Can he do the same for Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts in Demolition?
A new trailer has been released for the film which co-stars Chris Cooper, Judah Lewis, and Heather Lind. The redemptive story centers on an investment banker whose life falls into ruin, but he finds a way out of the spiral by connecting with a mother who has experienced emotional turmoil of her own.
The film didn't get the best reviews out of TIFF last year, which explains why Demolition is opening on April 8th rather than during the awards season.
