Love Blossoms In First 'Me Before You' Trailer Starring Emilia Clarke And Sam Claflin

This week yet another Nicholas Sparks romance hits when The Choice arrives in theaters, and while people complain about how sappy those films are it's undeniable that audiences pay for them. So that makes this a good time to start hyping yet another Hollywood romance, one with a bit more talent behind it. The first trailer has debuted for Me Before You, which comes from Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter, the writers of The Fault In Our Stars, The Spectacular Now, and (500) Days of Summer.

Directed by Thea Sharrock and based on Jojo Moyes' best-selling book, the film stars Emila Clarke as a caregiver who forges a relationship with a quadriplegic played by Sam Claflin. This is familiar ground for Weber and Neustadter, whose films have often focused on love, illness, and personal demons. They've always been able to strike the right balance before, so there's every reason to think they can do it again, even if this trailer comes off as a little maudlin.

Me Before You hits theaters on June 3rd.
