Next weekend 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise gets a bit bigger and a lot more immature when Deadpool (review here) hits theaters. It's the next step in revitalizing Marvel's favorite mutants for the big screen following last year's massive X-Men: Days of Future Past, but the biggest step takes place in a few months with the arrival of X-Men: Apocalypse.
Once again directed by Bryan Singer, and bringing back the likes of Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Lucas Till, and Evan Peters, the film will also introduce a new generation of mutants. Sophie Turner plays Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan is Cyclops, Ben Hardy as Angel, Olivia Munn is the psychic ninja Psylocke, Alexandra Shipp plays Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee is Nightcrawler, Lana Condor is Jubilee, and Oscar Isaac gets suited up as the megalomaniacal Apocalypse.

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
X-Men: Apocalypse opens on May 27th.
