New Trailers For Animated Comedies 'The Angry Birds Movie' And 'Ice Age: Collision Course'
Pixar did what everyone expected and took home the Academy Award for Inside Out, but can they repeat that in 2016 with a sequel like Finding Dory? That'll be much tougher to pull off, and there are other big movies hoping to slip in and claim some gold for themselves. Ice Age: Collision Course and The Angry Birds Movie are on the way this year, and trailers for both have now been released, so gather the kiddies and check 'em out.
First up, the addicting video game comes to life with The Angry Birds Movie, featuring the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage, Keegan-Michael Key, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz, Hannibal Buress, Jillian Bell, and more. Sony obviously hopes the millions of hours spent playing the game will translate into hundreds of millions at the box office. Here's the synopsis:
The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We're the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
And then there's the fifth movie (!!!) in the Ice Age franchise, 'Collision Course' which once again finds the acorn-obsessed rodent Scrat mucking up the entire planet for everybody. He's why woolly mammoths can't have nice things. Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes, Jennifer Lopez, Stephanie Beatriz, Adam DeVine, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Max Greenfield, Jessie J, Nick Offerman, Melissa Rauch, Michael Strahan and Neil de Grasse Tyson are providing the voices for this prehistoric adventure.
Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age World. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, traveling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters.
The Angry Birds Movie opens May 20th, while Ice Age: Collision Course arrives on July 22nd.
