Marvel's 'Inhumans' Film Gets Bumped Again

While some like to work under the fiction that things always run smoothly for Marvel, that's not actually the case. For instance, they've been developing an Inhumans movie for years, without it ever seeming to really take hold. That began to change last year when it finally got a release date set for 2019, and while there were rumors of problems with the project that could bump if off that date, nothing had been confirmed. Well, now it looks like that date has definitely been moved.

Speaking with Collider, Marvel honcho Kevin Feige says Inhumans is probably getting bumped off the 2019 perch. Why? Because the landscape of the MCU isn't the same as it was last year, and things have to be changed to reflect that...

"Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us. We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle off the current date that it’s on right now. How far down it shuffles, I’m not sure yet.But it’s not a matter of “they’re already doing that on TV, we’re not doing it?”No, It’s a question of when."

The mention of the TV side has to do with Agents of SHIELD, which has been running Inhumans storylines for the past couple of seasons. But Feige insists that has nothing to do with it, and he's probably telling the truth there. The film has been knocked around a lot to make way for other projects, and finally it appears to be off the calendar altogether, at least for the time being.
