'Thor: Ragnarok' Adds 'Creed' Star Tessa Thompson

When Tessa Thompson finally made her mark, she didn't waste any time capitalizing on it. The Dear White People star followed it up with a role in Ava DuVernay's Selma, followed by a critically acclaimed performance in Creed. And now she can add her first Marvel superhero film to her resume as she's the latest to join Thor: Ragnarok's cast.

THR reports that Thompson has joined the third film starring Chris Hemsworth as the thunderous Avenger. Her role is still being kept under wraps, of course, so let the speculation begin.  So let's think about this for a second: we know that Mark Ruffalo is tagging along as Hulk. So could she be playing someone from Hulk's life, like Betty Ross? Or perhaps she could be one of the Asgardian Valkyries, who are rumored to be making an appearance?

Lots of questions, but regardless this is pretty exciting to see Thompson joining the Marvel bullpen. Also starring Tom Hiddleston and Cate Blanchett, Thor: Ragnarok opens November 3rd 2017.
