Paging Jason Ritter, A 'Three's Company' Movie Is In The Works

At this point, classic sitcoms being rebooted as feature films is par for the course, and while many turn out to be awful they aren't all bad. Remember when we thought 21 Jump Street was a terrible idea? Look how that turned out.  And next to be given a modern spin is Three's Company, and it will be interesting to see how they make that one work.

The original 1977 series starred John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt, and Susan Somers, and at the time it was seen as salacious because it centered on two single women living with male roommate, Jack Tripper. It was such a foreign concept at the time that a recurring gag had their landlord Mr. Roper believing Jack was homosexual so as not to be offended by the arrangement. Obviously, times have changed and those living arrangements are no longer a big deal, which leads one to wonder whether this will be a throwback piece or a satire or what.

Figuring all of that out will be He's Just Not That Into You writers Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, while the search is on for a director.  Wouldn't it be something if they could get Jason Ritter for the lead role? Someone should be calling him up right now.
