Trailer For Kristen Stewart And Oliver Assayas' 'Personal Shopper', Which Just Got Booed At Cannes

In case you've missed it, Kristen Stewart has been on a quest for credibility lately, in hopes of distancing herself from some of the choices made earlier in her career. And she's done a good job, working alongside multiple auteurs and winning the prized Cesar Award for her performance in Olivier Assayas' Clouds of Sils Maria. The two have been reunited for the director's next film, Personal Shopper, which just debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, and taking advantage of the buzz is the debut trailer.

Stewart stars as a young woman who works as a celebrity's personal shopper for most of the day, but in her off time tries to communicate with the spirit of her dead brother. It sounds ridiculous, even as the trailer appears to be playing it straight, but audiences at Cannes weren't having it. The film was booed loudly at its world premiere, a common occurrence from the festival crowd. Historically getting booed on the Croisette hasn't meant much other than to make a film more anticipated than before.

Personal Shopper hits theaters in France on October 19th, and will be released by IFC Films in the U.S. later this year.
