First Clip From Woody Allen's Amazon Series, 'Crisis In Six Scenes', Debuting Next Month

Woody Allen may be 80 years old but he's working at a consistent rate better than some directors half his age. He only just released his latest annual piece, Cafe Society, and is gearing up to shoot his next film which will arrive around the same time in 2017. But he's also found time to take on something unexpected; a TV series for Amazon Studios titled Crisis in Six Scenes, and now we're finally getting some details and a brief teaser.

Written, directed, and starring Allen, the series "is a comedy that takes place in the 1960s during turbulent times in the United States when a middle class suburban family is visited by a guest who turns their household completely upside down.” This scene is pure Allen, with the filmmaker playing Sidney Munsinger who really wants a haircut just like James Dean, a suggestion his barber (played by the always-welcome presence of Max Casella) thinks is a terrible idea.

Miley Cyrus, Elaine May, Rachel Brosnahan, John Magaro, Michael Rapaport, Margaret Ladd, David Harbour, Joy Behar, Christine Ebersole, Becky Ann Baker, Lewis Black and Rebecca Schull will co-star in the six episodes series which hits Amazon Prime on September 30th.
