'A Wrinkle In Time' Adds Reese Witherspoon And Mindy Kaling
Last night Ava DuVernay's anticipated series Queen Sugar debuted on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network, and the reviews have been great so far. It isn't the only collaboration between the two, though, as Winfrey is currently set to star in DuVernay's adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s beloved science-fiction book, A Wrinkle in Time. Now Winfrey is no longer alone in the cast as THR reports she will be joined by Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling.
The trio will collectively play a group of angelic immortal beings who aid a young girl and her brother on an interplanetary quest to find their missing father. Witherspoon will play Mrs. Whatsit, the youngest of them despite appearing much older. Kaling is the Shakespeare-quoting Mrs. Who, while Winfrey is set to play Mrs. Which, who appears as a shimmering gleam of light.
Disney's A Wrinkle in Time has a script by Frozen co-writer Jennifer Lee, and chances are we'll see it in theaters next year.
