Shia LaBeouf may be considered one of Hollywood's bad boys, but he's got nothing on the terror John McEnroe reigned over the tennis courts. Well now LaBeouf will get try and embody the passionate Hall of Famer in a new film, Borg/McEnroe, and we have the first look at the actor on the courts.
The image reveals LaBeouf with the same headband of shock of curly hair as McEnroe, standing alongside co-star Sverrir Gudnason as fellow tennis legend, Bjorn Borg. The two had a heated rivalry that fueled 14 head-to-head showdowns, with McEnroe's fiery personality standing totally opposed to the reserved Borg. The film, which will be directed by Danish helmer Janus Metz Pederson, will focus on their epic 1980 Wimbledon finals match.
With filming underway we may see this in theaters some time in 2017. Is it bad that I had no idea this was happening? LaBeouf can be seen right now in Andrea Arnold's American Honey, continuing the actor's move away from big studio movies.
