Margot Robbie Reunites With David Ayer For 'Gotham City Sirens','Suicide Squad 2' In The Works

Despite all of the negative reviews and bad press about a troubled production, David Ayer took Suicide Squad to some impressive box office heights. The villain teamup flick earned $745M worldwide which ain't bad for a movie without a major DCU hero. A big part of the reason for that success was Margot Robbie's deranged Harley Quinn, which was instantly pegged for a spinoff. And hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

THR reports that Robbie and Ayer will reunite for Gotham City Sirens, which is the Harley Quinn spinoff that will feature a number of DCU heroines and villains that Batman has to contend with. We could see Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and others pop up in the film that will be scripted by Geneva Robertson-Dworet. Maybe Batgirl? Just don't do her like they did in The Killing Joke animated movie, okay?

The film is already pretty far along, at least compared to what else is coming up, like a Suicide Squad sequel and an apparent Deadshot spinoff featuring Will Smith. So it seems like 'Sirens' will be taking the lead among the darker corner of the DCU, and hopefully this time things go more smoothly.
