Emile Hirsch And Brian Cox Cut Deep In New Trailer For 'The Autopsy Of Jane Doe'
On the list of things that have always given me the creeps: autopsy rooms. I hate cop shows where the officers (there's usually a young D.A. in there somewhere) have casual conversations with the coroner while an examined corpse is laying next to them, chest all carved up. Ugh. It's something about the cold, metallic emptiness that gets me. So chances are I'm not going to dig The Autopsy of Jane Doe, which earned huge praise out of Fantastic Fest for scaring the crap out of everybody who saw it.
Starring Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox, the film centers on father and son morticians who make a huge mistake by agreeing to examine the seemingly untouched corpse of a woman and discover her cause of death. What they find is a Hell of a lot more, and with each gruesome discovery things go from bad to worse.
While not as revealing as the red band trailer from a couple months ago this trailer does a good job of showing the dynamic between the actors, who basically carry the whole thing from that one single location. Never an easy feat to pull off but by all accounts they and Trollhunter director André Øvredal have pulled it off.
The Autopsy of Jane Doe hits theaters and VOD on December 21st.
