Chloe Grace Moretz's Mind Betrays Her In Trailer For 'Brain On Fire'

Because she dropped many of her upcoming projects to reassess the roles she takes, I keep forgetting that Chloe Moretz has the psychological drama Brain on Fire coming out soon. The film, which is based on the true story of New York Post journalist Susannah Calahan, debuted at TIFF last year and buzz has been quiet on it since then. But Netflix picked it up and have dropped the first trailer before it hits the streaming network later this year.

Directed by Gerard Barrett, who was at the helm of the underrated drama Glassland, the film stars Moretz as a 24-year-old journalist afflicted with a month-long mental illness that her doctors could not properly diagnose. As she suffered from memory loss, hallucinations, and violent episodes, she eventually finds a doctor who figures out she's suffering from anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis. Tyler Perry, Jenny Slate, Richard Armitage, Thomas Mann, and Carrie-Anne Moss co-star with Charlize Theron as a producer.

Netflix will release Brain on Fire later this year.
