First Trailer For Sci-Fi Film 'Kill Switch' Starring Dan Stevens & Berenice Marlohe
If you told me Dan Stevens had been cloned and his duplicate decided on a career that would eclipse the original, I'd totally believe you. Stevens has been absolutely everywhere lately and almost everything he touches turns to gold. From the $1B smash success of Beauty and the Beast to FX's Legion and a key supporting turn in Colossal, Stevens can't be missed right now. And he's got some crazy sci-fi movie coming up that seems to emerged out of nowhere.
Stevens is featured in the first teaser for the generically-titled Kill Switch, a Dutch sci-fi film that marks the directorial debut of Tim Smit, based on his own short film. Also starring Skyfall's Berenice Marlohe, it appears to have to do with parallel realities and a need to save the Earth from something that got screwed up. Overall it doesn't look particularly distinctive other than the VFX work, but Stevens signed on to it for a reason so maybe there's more than meets the eye. Here is a synopsis:
Acclaimed writer-director Tim Smit explodes on to the scene with his futuristic, VFX-heavy feature debut! KILL SWITCH charts the story of a pilot battling to save his family and the planet, based on Smit’s short What’s In The Box?
Set in a future version of the world, the video game style plot follows an experiment for unlimited energy, harnessing parallel universes, which goes wrong. Chased by drones and soldiers, pilot and physicist Will Porter must race through an imploding world to get the Redivider box to a tower, which will save humanity, including his family, in the real world.
Kill Switch opens June 16th.
