Viggo Mortensen Opens The 'Green Book', Thomas Middleditch Joins 'Godzilla: King Of The Monsters'
Viggo Mortensen and Dumb and Dumber To director, Peter Farrelly? Okay, sure. Mortensen will star in Farrelly's film, Green Book, which he co-wrote with Nick Vallenlonga and Brian Currie. Set in 1962, the story follows Tony Lip, "one of the best bouncers in New York City who is in need of work after his nightclub, the Copacabana, shuts down. He takes a gig chauffeuring a highly educated piano-playing prodigy who wants Lips to go on tour with him in the Deep South. While the two clash at first, a bond eventually grows as they travel deeper into the racially charged region." Filming begins this fall. [Variety]
Considering he plays some kind of tech geek in pretty much everything, including HBO's Silicon Valley, Thomas Middleditch is probably going to do the same in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. He's joining the Michael Dougherty-directed sequel to 2014's smash hit, which already has Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, Charles Dance, and Vera Farmiga, plus returning cast members Sally Hawkins and Vera Farmiga. Middleditch will be heard in this weekend's animated comedy, Captain Underpants. Godzilla: King of the Monsters opens in March 2019 and leads directly to the Godzilla vs. Kong crossover in 2020.
