'Wonder Woman' Director Patty Jenkins Working On Horror Project, 'Riprore'
Through one weekend, Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman has already earned $240M worldwide, a remarkable achievement by any measure. She's got a world of opportunities that have opened up, and one of those will include a return for a sequel which will bring Wonder Woman into a contemporary setting. But we also heard that Jenkins is considering another project, a limited series that would be based on a script by her husband, MMA fighter Sam Sheridan. And now we're learning a bit more about what that project will be.
That project is Riprore, which will be part of a wave of original content for AMC's horror streaming service, Shudder. Jenkins' exact involvement is unclear, though, so we don't know if she'll actually direct or just produce what sounds like a gangland apocalypse movie. Here's the synopsis: "Riprore, which focuses on the heart of gangland Los Angeles, where a gruesome discovery sparks a frenetic homicide investigation, but underneath the surface lurks a darkness that leads to the end of days."
Chances are this won't carry the same amount of attention as Wonder Woman, but Jenkins' current high-profile certainly doesn't hurt. If you're interested in Shudder, it's available for $4.99 a month as part of AMC Networks. [THR]
