Oh thank goodness. It's been so long since that D23 featurette that I've been going through Star Wars: The Last Jedi withdrawals. Enough of the Han Solo movie already, let's talk the real deal. Fortunately for me, and all of us, EW is beginning their Fall Preview, and inside is a bunch of new images and info with more to come.
The images give us new looks at John Boyega as Finn, Daisy Ridley as Rey, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, and more. Of interest is the shot of Ren's new Tie Fighter, as well as "The Casino" at Canto Bight, where we'll find new character Rose, played by Kelly Marie Tran. We also get a look at director Rian Johnson on set and spending time with the late Carrie Fisher in her final role.
And for those who subscribe to the "Luke Skywalker is the villain" theory, just note that he's described as "overpowered by regret, eager to close the book on his past while living out the rest of his days on an isolated island" when Rey finds him. Sounds like a misguided hero-turned-villain to me, and the parallels to Anakin Skywalker would be obvious.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens December 15th.
