Now we're getting to the good stuff, or at least the major characters in The Hobbit. The latest in a string of images released by Peter Jackson features Thorin Oakensheld, played by Richard Armitage. Thorin is the leader of the dwarves accompanying Bilbo on the quest to defeat the dragon Smaug and reclaim The Lonely Mountain. He's a bit more warlike in his look than I imagined him being, looking like the dwarven eqivalent of Conan. But overall it's still pretty cool. I wonder if we'll start seeing some of the human characters next, or maybe even Smaug itself? The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters on December 14th 2012. [theonering.net]
