Julianne Moore in talks to play the mom in Kimberly Peirce's 'Carrie' remake

Just a few weeks ago we learned that Julianne Moore and Chloe Moretz were circling the role of the fundamentalist Christian mom in Kimberly Peirce's remake of Carrie, and now it looks like a decision might have been made. Bloody Disgusting is reporting that talks are underway for her to join the film, although it's unclear just how deep they are into negotiations.

Moore would be a perfect for the part, as she's one of the few actresses who can has no real limitations. While horror hasn't been something she's dabbled in all that much, we've seen her do crazy before so it's not something that's totally unfamiliar. Honestly, they couldn't have made a poor decision here, as Foster would have fit the role just as well.

Now that a March 15th 2013 release has been secured, and Moore possible on board, I'm starting to like the way this film is shaping up.
