It seems that after last year’s Sundance debut of the horror anthology V/H/S the film
makers thought it was time to celebrate that with the trailer for the next one, S-VHS. Debuting at this year's festival in the after dark Midnight session, this one looks to be like the first one in that it’s just a collection of grisly stories with the tying thread being involving a collection of disturbing tapes. Going by the trailer the stories seem to be more ramped up from the last one. Gareth Evans, Jason Eisener, Adam Wingard, and more lead a pack of today's finest horror maestros directing each installment. Check out the plot to get all caught up:
Inside a darkened house looms a column of TVs littered with VHS tapes, a pagan shrine to forgotten analog gods. The screens crackle and pop endlessly with monochrome vistas of static—white noise permeating the brain and fogging concentration. But you must fight the urge to relax: this is no mere movie night. Those obsolete spools contain more than just magnetic tape. They are imprinted with the very soul of evil.
