In his most prominent screen credit to date as writer of Tropic Thunder, Etan Cohen had the incredible fortune to work with Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Tom Cruise, and Robert Downey Jr. A cast any filmmaker would kill for. Now as he makes the move to directing, Cohen is again blessed by the comedy gods by teaming up with Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell for Get Hard.
Cohen will make his directorial debut on the film, and despite the title it doesn't have anything to do with porn. Instead it has Ferrell as a rich investment banker whose client frames him for fraud. With just 30 days to go before being sent to maximum security prison, he enlists his car washer (Hart) to teach him how to get tough.
It's a premise that's been done before, but never with the likes of Ferrell and Hart, so this should be a comedy worth looking forward to. Filming should begin soon, and after that Cohen will direct Ferrell again on Daddy's Home, which co-stars Vince Vaughn. [Variety]
