Tom Cruise Takes Flight in First Full 'Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation' Trailer

If there's one thing everyone recalls about Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol, it was that towering sequence with Tom Cruise scaling Dubai's Burj skyscraper. How does one go about topping such a jaw-dropping scene? That was the problem faced by Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie, but he was fortunate to have an adventurous guy like Cruise who was willing to try anything. And as we saw in yesterday's teaser, "anything" includes climbing on the wing of a jetliner as it takes off into the air. Cruise tells USA Today...

"I've often sat on airplanes, looked out and thought, 'What it would be like out there on the wing? This is the (stuff) I think about."

And just in case you think that's just some stunt double doing all the grunt work while Cruise relaxes in his trailer, think again...

"That's me the whole time. I was standing right over the tires when we landed. It's nerve-racking for everyone else, but pretty exciting for me."

And now we're getting an even better look at Cruise in action in the first full trailer, which looks like the biggest of the franchise yet. Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames are back as part of the IMF team as they join Cruise's Ethan Hunt to stop the evil organization known as the SYNDICATE.

Also starring Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson and Sean Harris, Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation opens July 31st.
