Ben Foster is Lance Armstrong in the International Trailer for 'The Program'
Lance Armstrong wasn't just a cycling champion, he was considered by many to be a true hero. Seen as a paragon of virtue and the epitome of peak human performance, his fall from grace was swift and epic. Hollywood has multiple films that will explore the crash of Armstrong's career, like Stephen Frears' upcoming film, The Program (formerly Icon), which has just revealed its first international trailer.
While dubbed in German, the main thing is seeing Ben Foster in the role of Armstrong, who would see his professional and personal life destroyed by a doping scandal. Penned by John Hodge (Trainspotting), the story is adapted from journalist David Walsh's book, "Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit Of Lance Armstrong", about his role in exposing Armstrong. Chris O' Dowd takes on the role of Walsh, while Guillaume Canet, Jesse Plemons, Dustin Hoffman, and Lee Pace co-star.
A little bit odd that it's taken two years since the first image was released for this trailer to arrive. Hopefully that's not a sign the film isn't too good. The Program has yet to gain a U.S. release date, but presumably that will change soon since it opens in Germany this October.
