Ice Cube and Charlie Day may Star in 'Three O'Clock High'-Esque Comedy, 'Fist Fight'

Ice Cube may be known nowadays for his comedy roles than his gangsta rapper days in N.W.A. (that may be changing soon), but his best laughs stem from his aggressive attitude. Ride Along, the 21 Jump Street movies, and others have Cube as the angry superior terrorizing somebody who obviously can't measure up. And he may get a chance to menace Charlie Day (Pacific Rim) in the same way in Fist Fight, a new comedy that's in the works.

Deadline reports Cube and Day are in talks for Fist Fight, which is envisioned as similar to the cult '80s high school comedy, Three O'Clock High. If you've never seen that, it starred Casey Siemaszko as a kid challenged who is challenged to a fight by the school bully to be held at 3pm. Fist Fight, which is written by Van Robichaux and Evan Susser with Shawn Levy producing, has Day as a mild-mannered English professor challenged to a fight by a colleague (Cube) who thinks he's trying to get him fired.

This is still in the early stages but if everything comes together and a director is found the plan is for filming to begin this September. Day will be seen next in the Vacation "reboot", while Cube's N.W.A. career will be chronicled in Straight Outta Compton, a film he produced and his son is starring in.
